Henry Cejudo has decided to drop his flyweight belt, and the final Fighting Championship will make it to the graves in February.

According to BJP.com’s Thursday evening report, Joseph Benavidez (28-5) will contest with Deveson Figueiredo (17-1) for the flyweight strap.

MMA Janaki later revealed that the empty belt would be on the line as two-division shampoo Cejudo would relinquish her flyweight crown. ESPN confirmed the news with Sejudo on Thursday night.

Benavidez and Figueiredo will arrive at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia on February 29 to blast UAV Norfolk headliners.

Benavidez won three of his last three, and nine of his final ten, dating back to a knockout defeat at the hands of Demetrius Johnson in 2013. In that period, he became the first fighter to knock out Alex Perez, and more recently, Jussier Formiga.

Figueiredo bounced back from the first defeat of his career in March and defeated Alexander Pantoza in October to beat Tim Elliott.

Sporting a final rate of 82 percent, Figuredio – the only one to defeat Formiga – did so in three rounds, and was unable to finish his fellow country before the final bell.
