Sergio Garcia tested positive of coronavirus and missed 2020 Masters Tournament.

Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia, a former champion of the master tournament missed this year’s master tournament at Augusta.

Garcia missed the cut in this year’s Houston Open, but he had won the masters, 2017.

Sergio Garcia tested positive

The 40-year-old golfer experienced cough and sore throat after he got back from Houston.

He said that the symptoms didn’t go away till Sunday. Sergio took the Coronavirus test with his wife. The result came positive for him, but fortunately, his wife’s report was negative.

The Master’s tournament always happened in April, but this year it took place in November due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Joaquin Niemann skipped the Masters after testing positive

Garcia was not the only golfer to pull out his name from the tournament. Joaquin Niemann also tested positive and skipped the tournament.

The Master’s tournament had 92 players this year. Their policy did not let them replace the absent players.

Spaniard Garcia regret missing the Masters

Gracia took Twitter to express his regret about missing this year’s Masters. He said that in the last 21 year he did not skip any significant championships. But this year he had to skip it. Though he is with his family, keeping well and hoping to get over the unfortunate time. He hopes to put on the green jacket and get back on golf fields next April.

Sergio did not win the last two Masters titles. He scored 13 on the par-five. Sergio got 15th position after the first round in 2018 the masters.
