In a welcome scenario, quickest bowler Jasprit Bumrah enlisted the Indian part in their training edition on the evening of the second ODI in the battle of West Indies at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

Bumrah, who has been away ever since the West Indies tour in July-August because of a back problem, trained with the Indian side as the inclusion of his recovery procedure.

He displayed no signs of rustiness in bowling to the likes of Rishabh Pant, Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey. There was no Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in the optional training trail.

BCCI posted a photograph of Bumrah in training uniform with the write-up, ‘look who is there.’ Bumrah, although, is not included in the ODI squad.

The verdict to call Bumrah in Vizag was acquired by the team management to figure out his recovery after going through rehabilitation for the stress broken he experienced on his back.

“You cannot actually have a better test instead of having a go in battle of the best in business. As you realise, the team management has been very apt regarding injury management and that is the reason this process has been maintained in place,” a BCCI source was quoted as claiming by IANS.

Team India will be having both Sri Lanka and Australia in January prior to heading to New Zealand for a full-fledged tour which includes of two Tests, three-ODIs and five T20I and that is where Ravi Shastri and team need Bumrah to be completely hundred per cent.

Bumrah’s value in the Indian set-up is properly known and the Indian team management did not wish to acquire any chance with his betterment post the stress fracture experienced on his back and that is the reason he was supplied to the UK for consultation.
