As per all the latest reports, the UFC Fight Island is a real thing, and it is located in Abu Dhabi, in the Middle East. Dana White, President of UFC took to the First Take segment of ESPN to announce on Tuesday. He said that his mysterious and controversial Fight Island is on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. White adds that the reason for the revelation includes the fact that Yas Island will help promote some of the International athletes. They are now being unable to enter the USA borders due to the strict travel restrictions following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. The UFC Fight Island is planning to host at least four events next month.

 The event planning

The events will probably start on July 11 with a 251-pay-per-view. Later, fight night cards UFC is scheduled to take place on July 15, 18, and 25. According to President White, there will be around three championship bouts featuring in the UFC 251. However, the headline is already decided. It will be the welterweight title bout that will take place between champions Gilbert Burns and Kamaru Usman. Next, there will be a featherweight title rematch between Max Holloway and Alex Volkanovski. On the other hand, there will be a vacant bantamweight championship in which Petr Yan and Jose Aldo will fight against each other.

The grand plan also includes a designated area of the Yas Island that is going to serve as the Fight Island. The planning for this includes an arena, dining establishments, training facilities, and a grand hotel. Moreover, there will be a safety zone of 10 square miles here. It is where only athletes, UFC staff, and coaches will be allowed.

UFC and Yas Island relations

In Tuesday’s First Take segment, Dana White states that their only aim right now is to successfully finish the events. He says that the most difficult task at hand right now is to get all the athletes together. It is a difficult task given the strict travel restrictions around the world. White also says that bringing in people from around the world is important because UFC is a proper global business. Besides, they are the only ones who are trying to pull off such events right now. Plus, if the fights continue in the United States only, he is afraid that he will burn out all his fighting talent there. Therefore, Yas Island is now getting all geared up for the upcoming events.

In a previous interview with the ESPN, Dana White had given small pieces of information about the Fight Club. He said that there will be a training octagon. It will be set up on the beach before the upcoming events. UFC shares a strong bond with both Abi Dhabi and Yas Island. Their relationship goes back to the time when they hosted the first live UFC event back in 2010. Flash Entertainment is an entity from Abu Dhabi, and they were the 10% stakeholders of UFC too.
