Spurs Trade Rumors: DeMarre Carroll and Marco Belinelli are bought by SAS

The San Antonio Spurs would be ready to exchange two of their veterans before Thursday’s deadline.

CNBC’s Jabari Young says the Spurs are looking to move DeMarre Carroll and have gone so far as to work with agent Mark Bartelstein to find him a landing after signing a three-year contract for $ 20 million last off-season.

It is also said that they “bought” Marco Belinelli, although “no serious contender” has arisen from concern about his defensive game.

San Antonio is only 22-26 this season and looks far behind the contenders for the Western Conference championship, but is also only 1.5 seeded No. 8 in the playoff race. Any movement that could help them rebuild for the future must also be weighed against their desire to advance to the playoffs for the 23rd consecutive season.

Losing Carroll would probably not hamper his efforts much. He has appeared in just 15 games this season and averages 2.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per night after the fact in the team’s rotation.

We are far from when I was a defensive hitchhiker who scored average double digits in the Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets, but a team might be interested in taking a brochure on the product of the University of Missouri with the hope that a change in the scenario can help you take advantage of your past production.

Belinelli plays a more important role in San Antonio’s rotation and averages 5.7 points per night in 43 games. He is best known for his three-point shot and is connecting 35% of his triples this season.

A rival team looking for more external shots could see it as a potential response, but apparently that contestant has not yet emerged.
