Will Fernando Alonso Return?

Flavio Briatore reveals that Fernando Alonso is motivated after a year out of Formula 1. Fernando seems more composed than before and ready for a remarkable comeback.

Alonso had withdrawn himself from F1 at the end of 2018. He now plans to be a part of Indianapolis 500. The only competitive seat for his comeback can be Renault.

About other teams:

Also, the last week’s news read that Germany’s Sebastian Vettel is about to leave Ferrari and will be replaced by Carlos Sainz, a fellow countryman of Alonso.

Apart from that, Daniel Ricciardo has been signed by McLaren. He will accompany Briton Lando Norris and act as a substitute to Sainz, leaving a slot at Renault.

On the other hand, both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will be out of contract at the end of this season. However, Hamilton, who has been a world champion six times, is likely to sign a new deal.

Max Verstappen continues to be the number one of Red Bull until 2023.

It was revealed that the team never offered Vettel a new contract.

Concluding Statement:

Briatore concludes the statement by the fact that F1 is always about having the winning strategy. There must be one driver focussing upon the World Championship and the other for snatching big points from the rivals.

Football

Football is among the sports that act as a weekly stressbuster and tend to provide enthusiasm for the rest of the week. For all such football fans, the COVID-19 pandemic has turned out to be next to hell. The outbreak of the epidemic led to the closure of all the sports events since March.

Since the fate of the top football teams is at stake, national football federations have decided to slowly and gradually come up with several ways to resume the leagues to give a conclusion to the 2019-20 season.

Clubs and sports players are going through a high level of stress. They have to make tough choices as the incomplete seasons might lead to severe financial loss, whereas resuming would pose a threat to the health of the players as well as club employees.

The ceased seasons of football sports!

The French Ligue 1 arguably ceased the season on April 30, 2020. The event crowned Paris Saint-Germain champions and decided promotion and rejection in the form of a club basis. This led to several protests from clubs and players. On the other hand, the Dutch Eredivisie declared the season abrogation on April 25, 2020.

Both these leagues acted as advised by the government, and the others are also expected to do the same.

When will the seasons resume?

The big four leagues-the English Premier League, German Bundesliga, the Spanish La Liga, and the Italian Serie A seem to have decided the fate for themselves.

The Bundesliga decided to resume on May 16, 2020, making it the earliest. However, there are high-security protocols, and also, the matches will be played behind closed doors.

The German Federation aims to conclude all the games by the end of June. The plans seemed to have quivered when Dynamo Dresden had to be quarantined.

The Italian government waved a green flag for Serie A clubs to resume from May 18, but the decision still seems to be on hold.

The Spanish La Liga is all set to resume from June 12 and end the season by the end of July.

The world’s most awaited and popular league, the Premier League is still unclear about the next step. On May 11, the Football Association announced that it might resume in June, but there exist several obstacles.

Thus, as of now, the discussions between clubs and the government continue to discover a middle ground.
