Robert Kraft texted Tom Brady an emotional note after the quarterback decided to leave the Patriots. Kraft sent the letter to champion player Brady back in March, appreciating his classy behavior. The incident is described well in the new book by Jeff Benedict, “The Dynasty.” Peter King from NBC Sports has brought the text in the limelight recently.

The book mentions the meeting of Kraft and Brady on March 17, 2020. It was right after the expiry of the latter’s contract with the New England Patriots.  “The Dynasty,” says that Tom Brady sent a text message to the Patriots owner Robert Kraft. It was to inform Kraft that he was COVID-19 negative. Later, both met at Kraft’s residence for a brief discussion, as mentioned in the book.

It was during this event that both the Patriots parted ways. Eventually, the quarterback signed his next deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to Benedict, Robert Kraft texted Tom Brady just after he left. The text was full of emotion and appreciation for the young player from the team owner. It was a parting note before Brady was no more a part of the Patriots team.

Robert Kraft texted Tom Brady: A father-son relationship revealed

In the text, Robert Kraft says that he loves Brady for being a classy human being. Kraft appreciates how Brady carries himself. He adds that Brady’s parents must be very proud of having a son like him. Kraft ended the message stating that Brady was unique. Earlier, Robert Kraft has often said that his love for Brady was like that of a father towards his son.

Later, in interviews, the Patriots owner revealed that their discussion was respectful. However, the meeting did not end in the usual way. Still, Brady had earned the right to choose his path on his own. Media reports suggest that Brady was unhappy with the team’s situation for years. Besides, there was significantly less bonding between Bill Belichick, the coach, and Brady. There was nothing more than a formal relationship between the two.

Brady was upset about not receiving the due credit for the team’s victory. Moreover, the team’s unwillingness to sign him for a long-term association was a clear signal. So, his decision to quit did not come as a surprise to anyone. Later, in April, the fact that Robert Kraft texted Tom Brady came out. Following this, the quarterback told how he broke down during his meeting with Kraft.
