Paul Pogba tested positive for coronavirus and had to leave out on Nations League games. He would be a part of the France squad against Croatia and Sweden in September but had to isolate himself instead.

Paul Pogba tested positive for coronavirus

France’s head coach Didier Deschamps shared the news that Pogba was infected with the coronavirus. The coach also announced that 17-year-old Eduardo Camavinga replaced Pogba. The young player is a Rennes midfielder. Deschamps said that they had to make last-minute changes in the list as Paul Pogba tested positive for coronavirus.

Soon, a statement from Manchester United mentioned the player is being replaced in the squad by Eduardo Camavinga. The player will not add 69 caps and 10 goals for the nation for the season that starts next month. The post also wished Pogba a speedy recovery and that he should be well before the new season.

Update on Premier League

According to schedule, France will play with Sweden on September 5 in Solna. The next match will be with Croatia on September 8 in Paris.

Paul Pogba will be in isolation for 10 days and then take another test for coronavirus. If his reports are negative, he can start training again.

As per the Premier League protocols, all the players have to be tested for the return for pre-season. Paul could be available for the selections when Manchester United starts the Premier League season against Crystal Palace on September 19.

There are many obstacles in the pre-season prep for Chelsea. However, players like Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount are returning from quarantine and summer break.

A group of players who are a part of the club’s first-team squad follow government rules of self-isolation. Moreover, rank Lampard’s team will be up against Brighton on September 14 in the first league fixture.
