When Tom Fitzgerald, interim generals of the Devils team and their staff began preparing for the next steps leading to the negotiating deadline at the NHL on February 24, the group met with potential team agents, as well as with Veterans Andy Green and Travis Zajac.

However, Fitzgerald has not had any of those conversations with striker Kyle Palmeri, who has also been at the center of commercial rumors in recent weeks.

Palmieri told NJ Advance Media: No, I didn’t have such conversations, and as I said, she’s out of this hall and this building.

You can’t control much of what is said, but now I’m happy. Being here and loving to the boys in this room and play in New Jersey.

However, Palmieri is in a completely different place from Greene and Zajac.

Greene and Zajac have complete non-commercial clauses in their contracts, so they will have to participate directly in any possible agreement reached by Devils.

Zajac has already rejected a possible exchange and wants to stay in New Jersey.

No way was Greene asked if he was willing to give up the non-commercial clause, but he had some initial discussions about his future because he could be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

In the case of Palmieri, he only obtained a non-commercial clause of eight teams in his current contract.

He and his agent presented that list to the demons in the summer, and the team will need their approval if they try to close a deal with one of these teams. If Fitzgerald wants to move with one of the other 22 teams, he can do so without participating in Palmieri.
