NFL has shown immense support towards the Black Lives Matter movement. One of the recent ways we saw how they’re expressing themselves is by imprinting names in the helmets of the players. Yes, the people who have faced police brutality are being given respect by this move. The players are using helmets with names like Breonna Taylor and George Floyd emblazoned on the back.

Some of the mock images clicked by the league show plans of what they will bring forth. It confirmed that famous players will be using such helmets to honor the victims of injustice.

NFL against social injustice

According to the shared images, the names that are imprinted in the helmet include Taylor, Floyd, Botham Jean, and Ahmaud Arbery. When the Front Office Sports announced about their tribute, most fans were expecting initials or stickers for commemorating the victims. However, the images shared shows how prominent the names are and how massive the honor is.

NFL has also informed that they will be using a new phrase, “it takes all of us”. This will be painted across the end zones. Roger Goodell told the media that they’re looking towards focusing on social issues and injustice. Working on the same with players leave a bigger impact on the people. He also said that the only thing they need right now is to see that there are no COVID positive cases so that the games can begin soon and the players can flaunt their helmets in pride.

By making players wear helmets that have the names of victims, NFL is showing support towards the wrongdoings of society. By involving players in the same, they are influencing the minds of millions of people across the US and abroad. More and more authorities need to take such steps in order to fight social issues. Way to go NFL!
