Prior to his career in the NBA Hall of Fame, Michael Jordan became a public sensation during three seasons of college basketball in North Carolina Tar Heal.

Jordan’s ability as an elite and Dunker athlete was evident in North Carolina, winning two NBA dump contests in 1987 and 1988 as members of the Chicago Bulls. From Chicago, where the 1988 dump contest took place at the stadium, Jordan also won the MVP all-star game that year.

The 2020 NBA All-Star Game and Dump Contest will return to Chicago at the United Center this weekend. Jordan has won six NBA finals in the Bulls. As a reminder of where the most prolific Dunker in the history of the Bulls has begun, the ACC Network has released an image of the highlights of the time at Joel’s Chapel Hill.

From 1981 to 1984, Jordan played against former Tar Heales head coach Dean Smith. As a freshman, Jordan hit the victory bridge of the game to defeat George Town in the 1982 National Championship game. Latest title since 1957. After two consecutive seasons in the United States, the Bulls chose Jordan, who finished third overall in the 1984 NBA draft.

Jordan, the current majority owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, is still considered the best tar heel player ever. He is heavily involved in team support every season. North Carolina Athletics is wearing a uniform with the iconic Jumpman logo, sponsored by the Jordan brand and made famous by Jordan.
