Victor Hedman is all set to go to his home in Tampa after winning two trophies. Right before he got the opportunity to win the Stanley Cup, the man was already voted winner for the Conn Smythe Trophy for 2020. He got the award by postseason MVP of NHL and got votes from Professional Hockey Writers Association members. The voting for the win came in the format for 5-3-1 pointsm and the ballots were due in 10 minutes during the remaining time of the Game 6.

After the win, the man received lots of praise from people across the industry. In an interview, he said that the last period of the game seemed the longest span of his life. It was a tight game, but Tampa made 2-0 and won the Game 6. The man went onto say that he was in loss of words after the game was over. He was sad that his family and followers couldn’t be with him during the game due to COVID-19 protocols. However, he did get support from his people back home and is eagerly waiting to return.

Victor Hedman led the blueliners with 10 goals for the postseason game. The team finished at 22 points out of 25 games. Defensemen Brian Leetch got 11 goals, and Paul Coffey got 12 goals in single playoffs apart from Hedman leading this time.

Hedman is currently the 10th defenseman to get the title of Conn Smythe Trophy. The others who made this record are Scott Niedermayer, Duncan Keith, Scott Stevens, Nicklas Lidstrom, Serge Savard, Brian Leetch, Al MacInnis, Bobby Orr, and Larry Robinson.

In the Lightning franchise, the only man apart from Hedman to get this trophy was Brad Richards. Among Swedish-born players to win this, he comes in as number three after Nicklas Lidstrom and Henrik Zetterberg.
